Arkham Lending Library and Miskatonic Interlibrary Loan Terms of Service

The Restricted Collection (“TRC”) in collaboration with The Mythos Busters (“MB”) is happy to announce and operate the Arkham Lending Library (“ALL”)! ALL is a physical library of scenario content for Arkham Horror: The Card Game. MB Patrons (hereinafter, “Scholars”) may rent out-of-print FFG content and professionally printed fan-made content (hereinafter, the “Items”) to use and play at home, and then return the Item to ALL. 

ALL Procedure

The following is the procedure to borrow an Item from ALL:

  1. Be a paid patron of MB for at least six (6) months:
    1. https://www.patreon.com/MythosBusters 
    2. Please note that patrons at higher levels receive higher priority on the wait list.
  2. Create a membership for ALL at:
    1. https://arkhamlendinglibrary.lend-engine-app.com/ 
    2. You MUST register with the same email you use for the Mythos Busters Patreon, as that is how ALL validates Patreon membership.
    3. Please ensure you include your mailing address
  3. Browse the collection and check out an Item. Each Item contains:
    1. All of the cards for that Item;
    2. Any Core Encounter Sets needed for that Item; and
    3. Any tokens needed for that Item.
    4. If an Item is already checked out, get on the waitlist! Higher-level Patrons will have higher priority on waitlists. 
  4. Each Item will cost $40.00 to borrow, plus the cost of return shipping, which will be paid by the Scholar. This fee helps cover the costs of shipping the Item out, running ALL, website expenses, replacing cards, and maintaining Items.
  5. Upon receiving the Item, email ALL to notify receipt and enjoy the Item for the duration of the loan period, which is nine (9) weeks long. The loan period begins on the date selected in your reservation, and runs until nine (9) weeks from that date. That time period allows for shipping time in both directions, with the intent being that you get to enjoy the items for eight (8) weeks total in between the shipping periods.
  6. At the end of the loan period, double-check the card count and mail it back to ALL. This means Scholars are responsible for the cost of mailing it back to ALL, and it is not covered by the $40.00 borrowing fee. Items must be mailed back via USPS flat rate medium boxes.
  7. After mailing the Item, email ALL the tracking information. ALL will confirm receipt of the Item and confirm all cards.
  8. Go back to Step 3!

Restrictions and Certifications

Scholars agree and acknowledge the following restrictions and certifications when using ALL.

Regarding Scholars’ care:

  • Scholars may only borrow one Item at a time. 
  • Scholars agree to be good custodians of the Items and will notify ALL of any damage to the Items as soon as possible.
  • Scholars certify that they live in a smoking-free house and will not take the Item to a location where there is smoking.

Regarding fees and returning Items:

  • ALL collects a small fee to cover upkeep. The cost is intended to ensure that ALL doesn’t lose money and may be adjusted once expenses stabilize. We are trying to ensure we can operate ALL first and foremost, so thank you for understanding.
  • Scholars are responsible for returning the Item to ALL, and ALL is solely responsible for determining when the Item has been returned. Delivery confirmation issued by US Postal Service is not sufficient to confirm return, as packages have the potential to be delivered to the wrong address or otherwise lost.
  • In the event that all or part of an Item is lost, destroyed, or not returned, Scholars agree that ALL may fine Scholars for the additional costs to replace or repair the Item.
    • This cost will be the actual replacement cost as determined by ALL or $500, whichever is less. 
  • In the event that an Item is late, Scholars agree that ALL may charge late fees ($1 per day) to the offending Scholar, and the offending Scholar may be barred from borrowing further Items from ALL.
    • The amount of late fees charged shall be capped at the cost to replace the item, or $500, whichever is less.
  • In the event that an Item is not returned to ALL, as determined in ALL’s sole discretion, Scholars agree that ALL may charge the Scholar for the cost to replace the Item.
    • This cost will be the actual replacement cost as determined by ALL or $500, whichever is less. 

Regarding ALL operations:

  • ALL is limited to the United States at this time.
  • ALL reserves the right to cancel a reservation at any time.
  • Organizations may set additional restrictions as part of their collaboration with ALL through the Miskatonic InterLibrary Loan System (“MILLS”).

Miskatonic InterLibrary Loan System

ALL includes the Miskatonic InterLibrary Loan System (“MILLS”), offered by The Mythos Busters (“MB”). MILLS Items on loan from MB. As of this time, ALL and MILLS Items follow the same rules and procedures, but MB reserves the right to change the rules and procedures related to MILLS Items in the future.
